The Gospel in the Garden

"Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love."

The garden at my school is gorgeous right now, alive and bursting at the seams with summer fruits and veggies. Tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, squash, strawberries, and many herbs and flowers. It is quite an oasis from the busy streets and thoroughfares of South Orange County. (It certainly helps that since our summer program is quite small compared to the usual number of kids that populate my school during the academic year that it seems particularly serene as of late)

I have continually felt inspired in manifold ways by the beauty and life exploding from the garden.

A beautiful butterfly and a small beetle, can you spot it?

Pickling veggies during the warm summer days, the garden in the background. A handful of veggies in these jars came from the garden.

My own personal porch garden has not been as thriving, hot days have scorched some of my herbs but these geranium cuttings from my friend and neighbor Camille have done superb. After only 2 weeks in their pot they are already blossoming!
